How we rank: every full inspection of each chain's local locations in the past 12 months, from the Florida Division of Hotels and Restaurants. Licensing visits and the call-back visits that follow a problem aren't counted, because call-backs recheck the same kitchen. "High-priority" violations are the ones the state says are most likely to make someone sick, such as food at unsafe temperatures or evidence of pests. A closure order means an inspector shut the place on the spot until it fixed the problem. Store numbers and franchise owners differ from one location to the next, so a chain's rank says more about the brand's local operators than about any one restaurant: check the location you're going to.
