The typical household in the city of Jacksonville earns $69,872 a year, a little less than the Florida median of $74,568 and about $10,900 less than the national median.
That's according to the U.S. Census Bureau's latest American Community Survey. But across Northeast Florida, the gap between ZIP codes is enormous. In St. Johns County's 32259 ZIP code, which covers St. Johns, Fruit Cove and Julington Creek, the median household earns $150,736. In Jacksonville's 32209 ZIP code, on the city's northwest side, it's $30,514, about one-fifth as much.
Here's what households earn in every Duval and St. Johns County ZIP code, how the region compares with Florida and the country, and what the numbers mean.

| Median household income | $69,872 | $71,277 | $109,839 |
| Median family income | $85,182 | $87,532 | $134,118 |

How to read these numbers
- They're five-year averages. The Census Bureau combines five years of survey answers (2020 through 2024) to report on small areas like ZIP codes, adjusted to 2024 dollars.
- Small ZIP codes have big margins of error. Downtown's 32202 has a margin of error of about plus or minus $15,900; big ZIP codes like 32210 are within about $2,800.
- The city vs. the county: The city of Jacksonville covers nearly all of Duval County, but not Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach or Baldwin. That's why the beach ZIP codes count toward Duval but not the city.
- Military ZIP codes are unusual. NAS Jacksonville (32212) and Naval Station Mayport (32227) have few households because many service members live in barracks, which the Census Bureau counts separately.
