JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Baptist Health has added two pediatric clinics, one in Jacksonville Beach and one on Jacksonville's Southside, to its network, effective Nov. 1, 2026. The former Pediatric Care Centers practices are now Baptist Jacksonville Beach Pediatrics and Baptist Southside Pediatrics, and patients can still see their regular care teams, according to a Baptist Health news release as reported by the Jacksonville Daily Record on Nov. 2. Baptist Health says the move strengthens connections between community pediatric care and the specialized services available through Wolfson Children's Hospital.

Baptist Health is a not-for-profit hospital group. The Daily Record reported that a third Pediatric Care Centers office, in Fleming Island, is not part of the deal and remains a Pediatric Care Centers office. The announcement therefore covers two offices, not every location that operates under the Pediatric Care Centers name.

Two pediatric offices have new names

The Jacksonville Beach practice is now Baptist Jacksonville Beach Pediatrics, at 274 Third Ave. S., Jacksonville Beach. It previously operated as a Pediatric Care Centers location. The name change reflects its addition to the Baptist Health network on Nov. 1.

The second practice is now Baptist Southside Pediatrics, at 8990 RG Skinner Parkway in Jacksonville. Like the Jacksonville Beach office, it was a Pediatric Care Centers location before joining Baptist Health on Nov. 1. Both offices are part of the same network expansion.

The addresses and new names are the key details for families who knew the offices under the old name. The reported change is in the network affiliation of the two clinics. The report does not say whether other administrative arrangements at the offices have changed.

Patients can keep their regular care teams

The Daily Record's account of the Baptist Health release says patients can still see their regular care teams at these clinics. That applies to both the Jacksonville Beach and Southside practices. It is one of the main confirmed points for current patients.

The report does not say whether appointment procedures, patient portals or office hours stay the same. It also does not say whether the clinics' phone numbers or accepted insurance plans have changed. Families who need those details should call their clinic rather than assume anything has stayed the same or changed.

The report also gives no count of physicians, staff or patients at the two practices. It names the clinics, their new names, their locations and their continuing care teams. The number of families affected has not been established.

Baptist Health describes a link to Wolfson Children's Hospital

Baptist Health says the addition strengthens "connections between care in the community and the specialized services available through Wolfson Children's Hospital." The release, as quoted by the Daily Record, describes Wolfson Children's Hospital as "the region's only full-service hospital for children." Those are Baptist Health's words, not an independent finding.

The hospital link is the stated purpose of bringing the two practices into the network. The reporting does not describe a new referral process, appointment system or specialized service at either clinic. How the connection will work for an individual patient has not been explained.

Eric Fletcher, executive vice president and chief strategy officer of Baptist Health, said in the release: "Families should be able to access the care their children need as seamlessly as possible, whether that starts with their pediatrician close to home or requires the specialized resources of Wolfson Children's Hospital." He also said: "Bringing these practices into Baptist Health is another step toward building an even more connected pediatric system that can support children and families throughout their care journey." The release does not measure how access will change or give a timeline for further changes.

The Fleming Island office remains separate

The Pediatric Care Centers office in Fleming Island is not part of the Baptist Health deal, according to the Daily Record. It remains a Pediatric Care Centers office and did not become a Baptist practice. That separates it from the two offices that joined.

The Daily Record also reported that, per its website, Pediatric Care Centers is part of Privia Medical Group. Privia Medical Group is a subsidiary of Alexandria, Virginia-based Privia Health. That is background on the group that continues to run the Fleming Island office.

The Baptist Health announcement names only the Jacksonville Beach and Southside practices. It does not report any change in ownership or affiliation for Fleming Island. Fleming Island should be treated as a separate, continuing Pediatric Care Centers office.

What changes for families

For current patients, the confirmed changes are the names and network affiliation of the two practices. Baptist Jacksonville Beach Pediatrics and Baptist Southside Pediatrics have been part of Baptist Health since Nov. 1. Patients can continue to see their regular care teams there.

The report does not say whether the clinics will use different phone numbers, portals or schedules. It also does not say whether the accepted insurance plans have changed. Those questions are unanswered, and nothing here should be read as saying they have or have not changed.

The Wolfson Children's Hospital connection is described as a broad organizational link. It is not described as a change to any one patient's care arrangements. The reporting does not say how it will work for individual appointments.

Financial terms and staffing were not reported

The Daily Record's Nov. 2 report does not give a purchase price or other financial terms. It also does not give the number of physicians or staff involved. No patient figures were reported for the two practices.

That limits what can be said about the size of the transaction beyond the two named clinics. The reported facts are the effective date, the practices involved and Baptist Health's stated purpose. The financial value and any before-and-after staffing comparison are unknown.
